Communities In Action
Volunteer Spotlight, June 2008
Janice Ingram is our Spotlight Volunteer this month for Communities In Action! Originally from the
Illinois suburb Evanston, Janice moved to NC in 1999 to pursue her academic and career goals.
She currently works at the ITT Technical Institute and as a part-time caregiver for the elderly on
the weekends. In the evenings she is a full-time student. On top of all this, Janice has found time
to volunteer!

Janice heard about Communities In Action through the Volunteer Center of Durham’s website. She
says she is passionate about helping her 7 and 11-year old sons succeed, and causes that assist
the elderly as she shared a close relationship with her late grandmother. Janice says that if she
could change the world in one big way, it would be that the organizations and causes working to
help the elderly and the homeless would get the resources they need to help those who deserve
it.
